vote1 150x150 Vote: Best Film Scores of 2011

All year long, I’ve had the opportunity to review some great scores from 2011…and some not-so-great (most of which you’ll never hear about).

Now it’s YOUR turn!

It’s time for Film Score Click Track’s annual online survey where you can vote for your favorite film scores of the year. I’ve pulled together a listing of film score soundtracks for films (and a couple of TV scores) that were released in the U.S. this past year.

I’ve done my best to make the list as comprehensive as possible, but it is likely missing some selections, especially from international films and video game scores. There are just too many of both to keep up with. If you find that I’ve missed a title, you can add it in the text box at the very end. I will compile the results and devote a blog post to your choices next week.

The survey will close at 12:01 a.m. EST on Saturday, January 7. So don’t delay!

While the votes tabulate, feel free to share your favorite score of 2011 in the comments section. Thanks for voting!

UPDATE 1/7: The polls are now closed. Thanks to everyone who voted in this year’s survey. Look for the results next week.

Thanks for putting this together, looking forward to the results!

It really makes it clear to me how unfair the whole “awards” thing is though. I haven’t seen 90% of these movies, who am I to say that a score I heard is better than one I didn’t? I guess the popular kids win again…

I saw roughly 50 movies from 2011 (give or take a few) and have heard scores from even more. But I’m still unfamiliar with a lot of these. That’s why voting on “best” is ultimately pointless (yet still kinda fun). It becomes work watching one movie after another or listening to one score after another. And you certainly can’t give enough attention to any of them. But we fans get to as many as we can.

Stay tuned… Sometimes you’ll be surprised what people will vote for.

Without a doubt, WAR HORSE was, in my opinion, the best of 2011 closely followed by TINTIN. Am I Williamsphile? Definitely, but that aside, of all the scores I purchased in the past year, his stood, head and shoulders, well above the pack!

It’s nice to have him back, isn’t it? Let’s enjoy it while it lasts. :)

Thanks for giving us the opportunity to do this. IMO, The Greatest Miracle was untouchable this year! By far, the years greatest achievement in film music!
